2020 Weather Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
TASTING NOTES:
Fuchsia tones in the glass with bright cran-raspberry aromas layered with rose petal and sea spray. Bright flavors of rhubarb pie, blood orange and vanilla crema then reveal an undertone of black tea, tobacco and toffee brittle. Integrated, complex and balanced the 2020 Weather Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir fires on all cylinders from one of the best microclimates for this varietal.
VINTAGE NOTES:
Early March budding set the growing season racing ahead of prior vintages in Sonoma County. A spectacular spring and summer unfolded with steady, daytime heat and cool evenings with Sonoma Coast grapes ripening evenly and about 10 days earlier than in 2019. Harvesting started earlier than usual with a mid-August storm resulting in a dramatic turn for the region. The outcome for the 2020 vintage was low in yield, but with exceptional-quality fruit for the wines that were produced.
